Weldon's Meat Market, a butcher shop and community market store, also offers a few smoked meat options for customers to enjoy without the hassle of smoking the meat on their own.

I frequent Weldon's Meat Market to find select cuts of pork and beef for my weekend cookouts so often that, when I ordered their cooked hot link and bone-in chicken, I startled the butcher behind the counter.

I was met with friendly service and the bonus of going a little on the untraditional side not having a full plate of sides I would not finish anyway. This kept my price low; $9.92 for a good portion of smoked meats.

When I was choosing between rib, Polish sausage, hot links, bone-in or bone-out smoked breast, I originally chose the smoked Polish sausage, but the butcher changed my mind to the hot link, knowing I like spicy foods.

I selected the bone-in chicken breast because foods with bones left in while cooking are generally juicier and more tender.

After the butcher wrapped them up I was in and out in less than five minutes total with two meats and a drink.

The hot link was oak smoked to perfection, not too much smoke and the right amount of heat.

Being stuck in Oaklawn traffic, the hot link did not make it back to the office -- bonus great finger food.

The chicken breast skin was crispy and tore right off without dragging the rest of the skin off the meat. The chicken was tender and moist with a hint of oak wood smoke and a slight smoking ring.

With the chicken breast being large, I added my own barbecue sauce to it which sent the flavor over the moon for me.

My overall impression of Weldon's Meat Market was given a four-star rating. Next time, I want to grab a rack of ribs.
