Fountain Lake High School senior pitcher Eden East serves as the backbone of the Lady Cobras' pitching staff.
Already signed to play softball at Central Baptist College next season, East is also an avid travel softball player.
She recently met with The Sentinel-Record to give people a glimpse into what she is like beyond the diamond. East is also known for her defensive glove at shortstop and is a right-handed hitter.

What do you like most about playing softball?
I just like being out there and being competitive.
What is your most memorable moment playing softball, even going back to when you were a kid?
I think my most memorable moment would be hitting a grand slam last year against Mountain Pine.
Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions?
I kind of just put my beats on (headphones) and just listen to music on the bus.
Who is your all-time favorite athlete in any sport?
Jenny Finch. I went to a camp with her and she signed a softball, so she is my favorite.
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of sports?
I go fishing with my brother and hunting with my dad.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Definitely a night owl.
If you could visit any place in the world, where would you go?
Italy
What is your favorite restaurant and favorite meal?
Chick-fil-A, love getting the nuggets. I usually get those before every game.
What one person is your biggest inspiration?
My mom, she is just really inspiring. She is always there for us and she is really like on top of everything. She makes sure we have everything, especially since it is senior year.
What is the last book you read or are currently reading?
I do not really read a lot, but the one book I did read was my Bible.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
My softball coach for the last few years, he would tell me to, 'hit ball hard.' That would be my mindset going into every game.
What is the last television series that you binge-watched, or are currently watching?
"Criminal Minds"

What is your all-time favorite movie?
"Stepbrothers"
Who are some of your favorite social media influencers, or favorite accounts that you follow?
I do not have a favorite one, but all of the comedy ones. Those are just really funny.
What band or musical artist have you been listening to lately?
I have been listening to a lot of Zach Bryan and Cody Johnson recently.
Name something about you that most people would be surprised to learn.
I have had two hip surgeries in the last two years.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
When people smack gum.
What is your favorite class in school?
AP chemistry, because it is my most challenging and I actually have to be on top of my stuff.
What are your plans for after graduation and what type of career do you plan to pursue?
After graduation I plan on attending CBC and I am going to go there to play softball and after that I am going to transfer to become a veterinarian.
