Frances Heinemann, 99, of Hot Springs, Ark., died Nov. 20, 2018, following a recent illness.
She was born Jan. 19, 1919, in Chicago, Ill., to Michael and Martha Friess. Frances is predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Dr. Victor Heinemann, of Hot Springs, Ark.
She is survived by her children, Carol Nelson, of Oreland, Pa., Dr. Fred Heinemann, Dr. Phyllis Heinemann and Dr. Phillip Heinemann, all of Hot Springs, Ark.; granddaughters, Sarah Heinemann, of Los Angeles, and Ariana Heinemann, of Hot Springs; and her most loyal friend, her toy Yorkshire Terrier, Susie.
Frances grew up in Chicago and worked as a secretary in the War Department during the early 1940s. She met her husband, Victor, at the Trianon Ballroom during the time he was working as an oral surgeon at Cook County Hospital.
In 1950, she and Victor moved back to his home in Hot Springs, where he practiced for the next 35 years. Frances worked primarily as a homemaker during those years, raising four children. She later worked with Victor as a dental assistant in his office.
Frances enjoyed traveling to faraway places, visiting her family that lived around the world. During her years living at West Shores, she was an active member of the Ladies “Red Hats.” Frances was also a longtime supporter of the Hot Springs Music Club. She was a long-standing member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
A celebration of her life will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Caruth-Hale Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will follow at McClendon Cemetery.
