Vacant building burns

Hot Springs Fire Department responded to a fire at 505 Rector on Saturday morning. Shift Commander Carl Hawthorn said that they got the call at 8:59 a.m. and the response time was around three minutes. The building was vacant and the fire is now under investigation with the fire marshal.

The Hot Springs Fire Department responded to a fire in a reportedly vacant building at 505 Rector St. Saturday morning. Shift Commander Carl Hawthorn said the department received the call at 8:59 a.m., and it took them around three minutes to arrive at the scene. More than 15 firefighters were called to the scene to fight the fire. Nobody was inside the building, Hawthorn said, adding that the fire is now under investigation by the fire marshal.
