Julia "Auntie" Geneva Walker departed this life on Oct. 17, 2021, and is now present with her Savior Jesus Christ, which is far better.

She was born Oct. 30, 1937, in Walnut Valley of Hot Springs, Ark., to the late Odis Breshears and Audie (Spears) Breshears. Julia was faithfully married to Samuel Walker for over 56 years, until he went to Heaven in 2015. She and Sam were both born again in Christ after a life-altering accident befell Sam at work around 1960. They raised four children together, each one coming to Christ of their own accord. Julia was familiar with horse and buggy, ice blocks delivered to the house, and brush arbor revival meetings where they lined the ground with sawdust. She loved gospel singing with her family, especially with her brother Olen. She recently enjoyed a visit back to Hot Springs and spent time with all of her siblings, where they sat around and talked and laughed down Memory Lane. Julia enjoyed a full life and kept her beaming smile through every season. She was sweet and sturdy and kept her Bible close to her all through life. Friends and family that share in Julia's salvation and have her same Savior rejoice to know that we will surely see her again.

Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Sam. She left behind four children: Karen Walker of Hot Springs, Ark.; Regina Meeks and husband Bryan of Fort Smith, Ark.; Kristy Doss and husband Miles of Tulsa, Okla.; and Timothy Walker and wife Jessica of Hot Springs, Ark. Julia also has five grandchildren: Michael, Philip, Anna, IvaFaith and John Meeks of Fort Smith, Ark. She is survived by her three siblings: Olen Breshears and wife Joann, Laveda Kizer and husband Edward, and Junior Breshears and wife Sylvia, all of Hot Springs; also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Viewing will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at Lewis Funeral Home in Fort Smith, Ark.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at Faith Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Ark. There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at Price Cemetery in Hot Springs, Ark.

Pallbearers will be Tim Walker, Jarred Shehan, Charles Allen Vaughn, Bryan Johnson, and Bryan, Michael and Philip Meeks. Honorary pallbearers are Olen Breshears, Junior Breshears and Edward Kizer.
