Oaklawn GM named to Arvest board of directors in Hot Springs

Wayne Smith, general manager of Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort, was recently appointed to Arvest Bank's board of directors in Hot Springs.

A news release said Smith has worked in the hospitality and casino industry for more than 30 years after growing up and attending college on the East Coast. He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Northeastern University in Boston. He and his family have lived in Hot Springs for nearly eight years.

Smith currently serves as chairman of the Hot Springs Advertising and Promotion Commission and on the boards of directors for the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame and Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce.
