Entergy Arkansas recently awarded over $10,000 to Garland County Habitat for Humanity for its participation in the Core Continuous Energy Improvement program.
Garland County Habitat for Humanity was one of the first Entergy Arkansas customers to participate in the new program in 2023, a news release said.
As a Core CEI participant, Habitat for Humanity received energy scans for each site to identify opportunities and attended group workshops to share ideas and learn from other Core CEI participants.
Core CEI provides ongoing technical support and one-on-one coaching to help Habitat for Humanity save energy through low and no-cost behavioral and operational changes, according to the release.
"Our partnership with Habitat in Garland County is one we are very proud of," Marshunda Jones, Entergy customer service manager, said in the release.
"They have made great strides in becoming more efficient and over $4,000 in savings speaks for itself. I am excited to continue to work with them to grow our partnership."
Each of the Garland County Habitat for Humanity ReStores participated and reduced their usage by more than 5% over the course of a year. As a result, more than 40,000 kWh has been saved, which equates to an estimated cost savings of over $4,000 over the course of the year.
Habitat for Humanity is being awarded $10,750 for participating in Core CEI and achieving the energy savings, the release said.
"We are truly grateful for our partnership with Entergy," Ben Baker, ReStore director, said in the release.
"It's a privilege to work alongside a community-minded company. Thanks to this collaboration, our stores have become more energy-efficient, allowing us to save money and invest further in serving our communities by building affordable housing for deserving families. "
The Entergy Arkansas Core CEI is offered through the Entergy Solutions program and "strives to help businesses identify energy savings specific to their buildings, prioritize a wide range of energy conservation measures, and achieve significant, long-term electricity savings. Organizations earn incentives for completing qualifying energy-efficiency projects and help improve efficiencies throughout their business."
