A reportedly homeless man was arrested on felony and misdemeanor warrants Wednesday stemming from allegations he chased a woman last month while threatening to kill and rape her.

Jeffrey Colton Chambers, 35, who lists "city streets" as his address, was taken into custody shortly before 4 p.m. in the 100 block of Exchange Street on a felony charge of first-degree terroristic threatening, punishable by up to six years in prison, and a misdemeanor count of harassment, punishable by up to one year in jail.

Chambers, who lists no prior felony history, remained in custody Thursday in lieu of a $3,500 bond and is set to appear today in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, a local woman alleges that on Sept. 19 she was walking to her place of work on Central Avenue when a white man with "long, shaggy hair" wearing a black hoodie, black jeans, and a green shirt began to approach her from the area of the Kenneth Adair Memorial Park at 354 Central.

She said he began "making outbursts" at her stating he was "going to rape her" and "going to kill her." At that point, the woman said she began to run to her work as the man began chasing her.

She said a fellow employee witnessed her running toward their business and saw the man chasing her.

Hot Springs police contacted the employee and he confirmed he saw a man chasing her and saying he was going to kill the woman and was going to rape her.

After further investigation, police were reportedly able to identify the man as Chambers and a warrant for his arrest was issued on Tuesday.
