The Caring Place of Hot Springs, a nonprofit organization, continues its mission to support families caring for loved ones with Alzheimer's and dementia-related illnesses, providing an essential service that helps families avoid institutionalizing their loved ones.

Recognizing the financial burden many families face, The Caring Place offers a Caregiver Respite Grant (formerly the Scholarship Program), to assist families who struggle with the cost of care. The program provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for those with Alzheimer's and dementia, while also offering caregivers a much-needed respite.

"Many families hesitate to seek help due to financial constraints, but we are committed to not turning anyone away based on their ability to pay," said a spokesperson from The Caring Place. "This grant is vital in allowing us to continue our mission and ensure no one in our community is left without the care they need."

The daily cost of The Caring Place's services is $72, compared to home health agency rates of $25-$30 per hour. To sustain their services, they rely on community donations, which are fully tax-deductible.

To raise funds for the Caregiver Respite Grant, The Caring Place will host its Annual Ladies Luncheon on Oct. 22 at the First United Methodist Church Christian Life Center, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $35 each or $240 for a table of eight, and all proceeds will directly benefit families in need of care. Reservations can be made by visiting their website at http://www.thecaringplacehotsprings.com or by calling Nina Alter at 501-623-2881 or 501-282-3572.

"This event is crucial for us to continue providing support to the families who depend on our services. No other organization in the community offers the level of care we do," said the spokesperson. "We invite everyone to join us for this beautiful luncheon or consider making a donation to help us continue this vital work."

Donations can also be mailed directly to The Caring Place at 101 Quapaw Ave., Hot Springs, AR 71901.

The Caring Place offers a loving and supportive environment for those with Alzheimer's and dementia-related illnesses while providing family caregivers the opportunity to rest and refresh. These services are critical to maintaining the physical and mental health of caregivers as they navigate this challenging journey.
